Standing Calf Raises

Description
Stand on a calf raise machine or on a block with the balls of your feet on the edge. Lower your heels as far as possible to get a full stretch, then rise up on your toes as high as you can, squeezing the calves at the top. Arnold had famously weak calves early in his career and had to prioritize them. He trained calves with extremely high volume—15-20 reps per set—and emphasizes the full range of motion: deep stretch at the bottom and full contraction at the top. He even cut his sweatpants short to expose his calves as motivation to train them harder.
