Description
The Barbell Press, also known as the Military Press, is a fundamental shoulder exercise. Sit or stand holding a barbell at shoulder level, hands slightly wider than shoulder width. Press the bar straight up overhead until arms are fully extended, then lower back to shoulder level. This is the most basic and one of the most effective shoulder exercises. It works primarily the front and side deltoids, with secondary involvement of the triceps.
